A cruiser-mounted near-infrared imaging system that sees through dark window tint at night. The officer counts occupants and spots visible threats from the seat, before the approach, not at the window.

Dark films block visible light but pass near-infrared. Under active 850nm illumination, an interior that reads black to the eye resolves to a clear monochrome image.
Count occupants and identify visible threats, weapons or furtive movement, from inside the cruiser, at the seat, rather than at the window.
Activated by the officer when needed. Not continuous recording by default, and not a daytime tool.

The officer triggers the system from the console once the stop is set, on demand, not always-on.
A covert NIR floodlight lights the target interior. The offset camera resolves the diffuse return while glare is thrown clear of the lens.
A live monochrome interior view reaches the in-cab display. The officer reads the scene before moving.

It sees what tint hides. Within limits we state plainly.
Vantage is a night tool with a defined envelope, not a universal defeat. We put the boundaries on the table up front, because a department will find them on their own vehicles anyway, and the honest version is the one that survives evaluation.
Daytime solar near-IR washes out contrast. This is a low-light capability, not an all-hours one.
Dyed and carbon films image well. Nano-ceramic is the hard case, where performance drops. It is validated, never promised.
The pilot illuminator is a diffuse 850nm LED, a low-hazard source. No laser-safety program is required to operate it.
Imaging a vehicle interior with a purpose-built device carries a legal posture. A written use policy and counsel review precede any deployment.

The display shows a live monochrome view of the target interior the moment the system is triggered, with occupant count and standoff range read at a glance.
It is decision support for the approach, not a record by default. What it shows is what the near-infrared return resolves, nothing inferred, nothing characterized.

Ceramic coverage is the known limit. A dual-band 850nm + 715nm illuminator is the logical upgrade if ceramic becomes a hard requirement — established before it is offered, not assumed.
